Otter and I had the privilege of attending an amazing, heart-opening event last evening. When I was pregnant with her, I met Katie Hess and Lisa Reinhardt at an event for The Bump. That "chance" meeting introduced the power of flowers and intentional chocolate into our lives, for which I am forever grateful.
Whether you are pregnant, birthing or postpartum, this book applies to you. It applies to anyone who is breathing space and wanting a more meaningful life experience.
Upcoming Events with Sweet Pea Births!!
We are so excited to announce that we have lots of new classes coming up at Modern Mommy Boutique during our hiatus from teaching Bradley Method® Classes. (We start our next session in March!)
Sibling Prep - New baby
Bruss will talk to the parents about strategies for the transition: phrases to use, how to talk about the new baby, reminding the older siblings that they are important, too!
I will be doing story time with the littles and a craft. We will be emphasizing how BIG they are and how your newest Sweet Pea is "just too little!
Join us tonight for a Signing Story Time!!
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
By Eric Carle
Sponsored by Sweet Pea Births and Modern Mommy Boutique
One of our SPB alumni mamas, Tanya Bland, who is a certified Signing Time instructor, will lead the group. First she will introduce some of the ASL signs that she will be using in the story. Then, she will read the story using ASL. We will close the time with an art activity based around tonight's story.
I hope to see you tonight at Modern Mommy Boutique!

I was able to attend last year's Spring Family Fest - what a tremendous opportunity! The keynot address was by Dr. Harvey Karp (life changing!!), and there were several panels geared towards families who are in their childbearing years.

If you are out and about this weekend:
Whether you are inside or outside, staying hydrated is a top priority as the temperatures continue to rise. Pregnant mamas, keep in mind that your water needs will change as your baby grows. One way to calculate daily intake is to take your current weight and divide it by two – the answer is how many ounces of water you need per day.
I am heading to Orange County today to attend theClub MomMe Spring Family Fest
. If you are not able to attend in person, please feel free to be a part of the event by following us on Twitter (@sweetpeabirths) and on Instagram (http://instagram.com/sweetpeabirths) to see what we are seeing and doing throughout the day.
