Consuming the placenta has been found to be beneficial in the postpartum period to help alleviate postpartum hormone fluctuations (aka "baby blues"), increase milk supply, and reduce postpartum bleeding. More and more women are choosing to ingest their placentas to take advantage of these benefits, and you can read about other benefits of "placentophagy" HERE.
Did You Just Insinuate, “Placenta” and, “Eat” in the Same Sentence?
Why, yes. Yes, I did.
When we first heard about it, both Bruss and I were completely grossed

Anytime a request comes across my desk three times in the same week, I figure
it’s time to write a blog post about it. And so it was with morning sickness this week. It is so exciting to hear that our alums are expecting again - some of the best news that there is!!
Here is a collection of tips gathered from our Sweet Pea Births
students, some things that have worked for me, and my favorite links to share
with mamas who are trying to get past the first trimester as best as they
can. For most women, the second
trimester is amazing – really – hang in there for the honeymoon period! |

Now that a high-profile celebrity is suffering from this condition of
pregnancy, you will be hearing more about it.
I watched a morning news anchor butcher the pronunciation this morning –
my bet is that in another six months, everyone will know how to pronounce it
correctly. It took me a few times to get
it right. While we offer joyful congratulations to Kate Middleton (and Prince William), our heart goes out to her. Mamas with HG usually do not have the blissful pregnancy memories that other mamas carry with them. |
