Avoiding harmful substances is a huge part of having a healthy, low-risk pregnancy. It is also vitally important to reduce exposures to chemicals and toxins when our Sweet Peas are earthside. Today's "Inside Look" is at a company dedicated to reducing chemical exposure for the whole family. Rebecca was one of our Fall 2011 Bradley students. She was already passionate about having a healthy, low-risk pregnancy before she started our classes, so it's no surprise that she found this company way back when they started out of the founder's kitchen. (FYI: Rebecca is a great "green living" resource as well - she is my "go to" gal when I have questions about "safe" products or ingredients.) I hope you enjoy reading more about the incredible products that Poofy Organics offers. Be sure to read through to the end so you can take advantage of a special offer for SPB readers. A woman who had a family member diagnosed with breast cancer
started this amazing company. She started to learn about the amount of
chemicals women are exposed to on a daily basis just from their use of personal
care products. She found that women could expose themselves to over 100
chemicals on a daily basis, just from the products that they apply to their
skin. Kristina couldn’t find any companies that had products that were
clean enough and worked well enough, so she started creating her own.
This was the beginning of Poofy Organics. This company is very
passionate about providing the safest products available at a reasonable price.
Everything is hand made, in small batches in a USDA organic certified
facility in New Jersey. While not all products are 100 % organic, they
are as pure as they come. Certain ingredients cannot be certified organic
by law, but everything is clearly labeled and there is 100% disclosure on the
label. What is your favorite Poofy Organics product or
product line? I love so many products. The first product I started
using from them is their deodorant. A friend recommended it, and I was
immediately hooked. My husband even uses it when he goes to the gym!
Now that I have had a chance to try so many more products, I have so many
more favorites! I love their Ciao Eczema lotion. While I don’t have
eczema, it is the best lotion I have used on my chapped hands. It rubs in
easily and is a great moisturizer. I also love the Everything Salve.
I use it on any skin irritation my daughter may have, especially her
mosquito bites! She gets eczema on her face, and this provides immediate
relief. The dish soap is the best dish soap I have ever used, and it
lasts forever. I also really like the all-purpose cleaner concentrate.
It is a great alternative to just vinegar and water, and super cheap!
It is less than $2/17oz cleaner. I also can’t live without their
mascara and face lotion. The mascara has the absolute best ingredients,
and it actually works! The face lotion smells amazing, rubs in so well,
and leaves no greasy residue. It also lasts forever because you only need
a tiny amount at a time. Who should use Poofy Organics products? Everyone should use Poofy, especially if you are pregnant
or a new mom. I would say the most important product to swap out would be
deodorant. Your skin is so thin in that area, and that is where breast cancer
is commonly found. What makes Poofy Organics unique? I have used so many products over the years, and I am always
researching ingredients. This is the first company that I found that is
as passionate about ingredient safety as I am. They are always researching as
well. I also like that they are hand made in small batches, but in a certified
facility. That way I know that the products are safe for me, and my
family. Any company can use the words organic and natural. There
are very few regulations on the cosmetic industry. On average, 10
ingredients are actually left off the label completely. Poofy Organics
has a 100% full disclosure policy. Many of their products are completely
USDA certified organic. I have only found a few companies that I will
even buy products from, but Poofy has the largest selection and the best
ingredients. What motivated you to start as a representative? I have bought products from them since they started. I
was working with woman trying to green schools, and people kept asking me for
product recommendations. I decided to become a representative so I could
do group buys and save some people money on shipping, and it lets me offer
discounts. I truly love these products and wanted to find a way to make
it easier for people to get them. Is there anything else our readers should know
about Poofy Organics products or the company? Poofy is completely dedicated to the environment as
well. They use recycled and biodegradable packaging materials. They
love what they do, and truly want to help change people’s lives with their
products and sustainable practices. They are truly passionate about what
they do on every level. What inspires you? I am inspired by children. I want to provide them with
the very best. I want them to have a happier, healthier future. I
truly feel like we, as a society, have gone down a destructive road and I want
to help change that. I enjoy helping people create healthier lifestyles,
and I want to help future generations live healthy lives! Interested? Check out Poofy Products here: https://rebecca.poofyorganics.com/ SPECIAL OFFER FOR SPB READERS For 10% off your purchase, you can place your order directly
