Sweet Peas, Pods & Papas: All About Birth, B@@bs & Babies

Inside Look: DeyaStudio

We are so pleased to introduce you to DeyaStudio this month.  Cassandra connected with the owner, Jinny, and we both agree that this SAHM with a baby handmade boutique offers products that are a perfect fit for our audience.

DeyaStudio grew out of a passion to offer unique handmade items that big-tag stores do not offer. Our success has grown from our very first design, the Year of the Dragon bodysuit originally created with the owner’s first baby in mind, born during the Chinese Zodiac year of 2012. Since then, we’ve added many more unique items and an array of products that are fully customizable from color to design.

We currently carry baby clothing, DIY decals, limited edition finds and custom baby shower / party kits among our growing product list.

Started by a freelance graphic designer and stay-at-home-mom, Jinny uses her creative eye and design expertise to create trendy, modern styles that sets DeyaStudio apart from other handmade boutiques. A large part of the business specializes in custom products. Clients dream up concepts and personalized gifts, and we bring those ideas to life!

What motivated you to start a baby boutique?
The motivation came from being pregnant with my first, who was born in the year of the dragon in 2012. I love being creative and decided to design my own "newborn outfit" to use for photos etc, which became my first selling design - the Year of the Dragon bodysuit. From there, the shop's really taken off into an expanded product line to include unique and custom clothing, DIY decal sets and onesie party kits. DeyaStudio has really allowed me to combine my two loves: design and babies!

Where do you draw your inspiration for your unique design creations?
DeyaStudio is different because it offers many products and designs that can be personalized to the recipient. Our DIY Decals can also be completely customized according to the shower/event's theme and colors, and our Onesie station party kits are a unique concept on Etsy. My background in print and web design has allowed me to come up with innovative designs, which I think also separates DeyaStudio from the rest. I can accommodate short deadlines and be flexible with creating a total custom package for any client.

Best wishes to Jinny as she rolls out the next stage of her business plan.  I already know a nine-year-old who is bugging me to order her a custom Year of the Horse tee in her size.  I suspect we will be customers soon!
