Welcome to September!! It's time to enjoy the cool-down in the weather in the Phoenix area.  Along with the cooler weather, we welcome back the full compliment of storytimes at our local public libraries.  You will find a link to several Phoenix-area libraries at the end of our listing.  After that, check out the listing for the splash pads that are still open.

Apple Harvest Celebration
Celebrate the peak of the apple season with tree-ripened Red Delicious, Golden Delicious and Rome Beauty apples. Experience the fun of picking your own apples, or select from already picked apples. Come early to enjoy the delicious "All You Can Eat" pancake breakfast served with hot apple topping or cider syrup, served each day from 7:30 AM - 10:30 AM. Apple-smoked burger lunches will be served from 11:30 AM - 3 PM. Free wagon rides will take you to the orchards for picking; Asian pears will also be available for picking. Homemade apple pies are baked fresh daily, and don’t miss the delicious "apple crumb pie ice cream", made in an Amish ice cream freezer. Hot roasted sweet corn will be available at the farm location.  FREE admission

Rally to Improve Birth & Picnic
Rally, goodie bags and swag! Bringing awareness to the masses! We will be handing out info cards and sharing information on why WE want to Improve Birth from 10AM to NOON. 
From NOON until 2:00PM we will have a picnic in the park. Water and some food will be provided. Please bring a side to share! Wear your Improving Birth shirt for an extra treat! 
There will be shirts available for purchase, adult and child sizes ($22.00 and $12.00 respectively).

Fish Feeding
Come see an 18,500 gallon freshwater aquarium that offers an up-close view of trophy-sized catfish, bass, striper and blue gill.  Feeding includes an informative presentation about the fish.  Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 pm and Tuesdays at 6:00 pm.  Also, every day kids can help us feed the trout in our Trout Stream at 1:30pm.

Inn Mommies: Explorers Playgroup 
Crawling children to four years old: This playgroup for moms and babies that are exploring their world.  It is open to women that have given birth at home, at Babymoon Inn or in a hospital. Delight and stimulate your baby in this short yet action packed class full of music, movement, and rhymes for baby and mommy. You will be reminded of great songs and rhymes for baby and you may even learn a few new ones. Get to know other families during playtime that follows each class. Babywearing International – North Valley
Our monthly North Valley babywearing meeting. Come out and get help with a carrier you have, try on a new style from our library, or just hang out with other babywearing moms (and sometimes dads). 
As always, attendance is free and we will have our carrier library available for you to try new carriers and get help. You can join BWIP at any meeting for just $30 a year, tax-deductible, and enjoy the benefits of membership - such as being able to borrow a carrier from our library for a month!
We meet at the splash pad to keep us cool through the summer! The splash pad is located on the East side of Desert Ridge Marketplace, by AMC theaters. Park by Paradise Bakery on the north side or by Islands on the South. Bring your water toys, a towel, and a change of clothes and you'll be all set!
